Know the Festivals and Events Happening All Year-Round in Austin

Any month of year, you can come down and decide to visit the city of Austin. This is because Austin has a huge variety of festivals and events that is taking place all year-round.  Whether it’s March or September, you will always find the action and entertainment that you need.

The first month of the year will direct you to a unique cultural destination in downtown Austin with the Annual Tenant Show in Guadalupe Arts Center. You will find a great showcase of photography, jewelry and sculptures – all of which can be purchased under $500!

February brings forth Carnival Brasiliero, a one-night Brazilian extravaganza that is the largest indoor Brazilian Carnaval in the world. If you’re the athletic type, February is the best month to visit so you can join in the Motorola Marathon through downtown Austin and around the lake.

The months of March and April are the busiest so far with numerous events taking place during these times. The most notable event in March is the famous Austin festival, the South by Southwest which is a set of film, interactive and music festival. In April, it’s the Pecan Street Festival – a fine arts and crafts event. This is a bi-annual fest with the second half taking place around September.

May offers the event a Taste of Mexico which features a variety of traditional Mexican dishes. June, on the other hand, celebrates the biggest motorcycle event- the Republic of Texas Biker Rally while July is the time for Midnight Madness, a treasure-seeking race.

August presents the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival, September marks the Batfest of the Mexican free-tailed bats and October features the Halloween on Sixth Street. November kicks off the holidays with Chuy’s Christmas Parade. You can then celebrate the holidays all month-long in December with the Trails of Lights and the Lighting of Zilker Christmas Tree.
